Christopher ShiehChristopher Shieh  (viola)

Christopher Shieh, a native of Washington D.C., has performed extensively as a freelance musician in the Baltimore/ Washington D.C. metropolitan areas. He has served as principal violist for both the Maryland and Annapolis Symphony Orchestras.

Mr. Shieh has performed with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, The National Gallery of Art Orchestra, The Washington Ballet Orchestra, the Virginia Chamber Orchestra, The National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Key West Symphony, and the Lancaster Festival Orchestra in Ohio.

Mr. Shieh holds a degree in music from the University of Maryland, College Park. His teachers have included Roberto Diaz, Michael Tree, and Gerald Fischbach. He currently serves as the principal violist for “The President’s Own” United States Marine Chamber Orchestra in Washington D.C.
