NCE Outstanding Young Artist Competition Second Prize Winner Tucker Stone is a 16 year-old tenth grader at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, VA. Tucker has been studying piano for almost 10 years, starting out as a beginner with Narciso Solero (Arlington, VA), President of Virginia Music Teachers Association, with whom he continues to study. Besides receiving second prize in the 2019 National Chamber Ensemble’s Outstanding Young Artist competition, Tucker has been alternate winner of the Virginia Music Teachers Association Concerto competition, a semi-finalist in the 2019 William Knabe International Piano Competition, and a three-time prize winner in the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association Piano Concerto Festival.

Music is an important part of Tucker’s life – he also plays trumpet and is second chair trumpet in both the T.C. Williams Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble A. Tucker also is lead keyboard – plus vocalist, guitarist, and trumpet player – for The Scenic Route, a pop/rock band that is part of the Rock of Ages Music (ROAM) program. When Tucker is not practicing piano, trumpet, or playing in The Scenic Route, he also is on the varsity golf team and varsity tennis team at T.C. Williams.
